4 x National Champion 2x European Champion

Ruby joined our Fun Box club as a 7 year old in 2014, gaining the elite level 1 & 2 awards in the 2 years she was in the Fun Box club before moving up to the main club in early 2016. On the 18th March 2017 after having 2 or 3 demonstration bouts Ruby had her first competitive contest winning on points against London Boxer Scarlett McAllen. After 6 bouts Ruby had won 3 lost 3 so had a 50/50 record. She then went on a 4 bout winning streak before losing on points very unexpectedly on our home show on 30.03.2019. A very valuable lesson learnt that day.

Complacency had set in, where Ruby thought that she just had to turn up would waltz through the bout against Scarlett McAllen who Ruby had beaten quite comfortably in her first two contests.

A narrow points loss really upset Ruby, but once she had calmed down and after me explaining that she should prepare for every contest as if it was for a world title and not to take anyone for granted if she wanted to get to the very top. Ruby took this advice onboard and set about knuckling down to her training. Some 3 and a half years and 20 contests later Ruby has only lost 1 more contest and that with 98% of the people watching it said was a very bad decision.

Ruby was then chosen to trial with England, so we attended their training sessions where she was selected to offical fight for England. She has just returned from the European Championship in Italy winning a gold medal for England, with 4 fights in which she had two stoppages defeating her opponent. We couldn't be more proud of Pocket Rocket Ruby.
